Henry VIII orders churches and chapels to declare their annual income, and the income of priests. A survey was conducted (Valor Ecclesiasticus).  In Guernsey the Bailiff and the Lieutenant Governor chose not to mention all of the churches' wealth and mentioned only three chapels, when we know there were many more. Henry VIII declares himself head of English Church
